This is a popular microtask website that is available to people around the globe, a better alternative to those outside the United States and Canada.

The best way to maximize your earnings with Ipsos I-Say is by taking surveys. The surveys offered by Ipsos I-Say will range in payout between $0.50 up to $10, depending on the survey, your qualification for taking the survey and its complexity. Ipsos doesn’t typically offer straight cash rewards. Instead members earn points which can then be exchanged for cash payouts or gift cards.

a green thumbs up Pros:
  • Free to sign up
  • Easy work
  • Low payout per survey completed
  • No straight cash rewards
  • Surveys offered are few and far between

InboxDollars is perhaps one of the most popular microsites online today, aside from Amazon Mechanical Turk of course. Once you sign up for your own account (which is free by the way), there are a variety of ways you can earn extra cash from the site such as taking online surveys, watching videos, playing games or referring others to the site.

What really sets this website apart from Amazon Mechanical Turk is its high pay rate. Typically, you can make anywhere between $5 to $20 for completing a survey. This of course depends on a variety of factors such as qualification and complexity of the survey. You can even earn anywhere between $1 to $ a day watching videos or playing games.

The minimum payout threshold for InboxDollars is $30, and you can cash out this payment via PayPal cash or a gift card to one of your favorite retailers.

a green thumbs upPros:
  • Free to sign up
  • Various ways to earn money
  • Pays via gift cards or paypal cash
  • Not really lucrative
  • Won’t qualify for a lot of surveys

If you want to make money with a site that has a solid payment history and is a great site to join, look no further than Swagbucks. This is a site that offers way more than just a few surveys to take in order to make money. You can conduct searches using the Swagbucks search engine, play games, sign up for a free newsletter, complete trial offers, watch videos or refer others to the site.

Completing these various tasks rewards you with Swagbucks which can then be exchanged for lucrative rewards such as gift cards to your favorite retail locations, visa gift cards or Paypal cash payment. For every 100 Swagbucks that you earn, it is equivalent to $1.

The wonderful thing about Swagbucks is that it doesn’t require much of an investment on your part and you can make some decent money with it. I can’t recommend it enough.

a green thumbs upPros:
  • Various ways to earn
  • Can earn money doing things you normally do
  • Various rewards offered
  • Can be time consuming if you focus too much on it
  • More incentived to spend money in order to gain Swagbucks
  • Low Swagbucks to cash conversion rate

Fiverr is a great alternative if you want to take your microwork to a whole new level. Fiverr is a website where you can offer a job, or a “gig” for $5 or less in the industry of your choice. The great thing about Fiverr is that you no longer have to limit yourself to only offering gigs that are less than $5. Now, you can offer gigs at any rate you choose, even as high as $1000 if you wish.

You can offer gigs in a variety of industries such as marketing, office work, graphic design or even animation. Fiverr will bring the customers to you, so you never need to worry of having to do all of the marketing yourself.

The main issue with this site lies in the competition. There is a lot of it! It can be difficult to stand out, especially if hundreds of others are offering the exact same gig.

a green thumbs upPros:
  • Can work for yourself
  • Unlimited earning potential
  • Free to sign up
  • Can work in any niche you wish
  • Can be hard to gain new clients

Not technically classified as a microsite, UpWork is a popular freelancing website where you can find jobs related to the industry of your choice and get paid for the work you do. As a contract worker, you can earn as much as you want, depending of course on the complexity of the job you take, the client you decide to work for and the industry you are working for.

UpWork pays its freelancers weekly, though this is dependent on how quickly a job is completed and the payment method. Typically, UpWork deposits straight into your PayPal account or bank account of your choice. Keep in mind, as a freelancer you are responsible for paying your own taxes, so that is something you will need to keep track of as you find more and more work.

  • Can be your own boss
  • Set your own schedule
  • Can work in the industry of your choice
  • Regular pay
  • Without feedback, it can be hard to land your first job
  • Must wait a week before receiving payment
  • Have to worry about paying your own taxes

If you are a handyman or are just great with your hands, TaskRabbit may be great. TaskRabbit is an app you can download onto your phone and find micro-jobs in your direct area. On the app you will find microjobs listed such as cleaning a home, assembling furniture, light landscaping work or running small errands.

However, the major downside with this app currently is that it is only available in select cities throughout the United States. The upside to this app is that you can take this as a part-time gig or take it full-time if you enjoy it.

a green thumbs upPros:
  • Easy to use app
  • Free to sign up
  • Great way to earn extra cash
  • Only available in certain cities
  • Can only be done locally

Clickworker isn’t for everybody. Unlike any other site I have talked about in this post, ClickWorker isn’t free to sign up for. This site doesn’t take everybody. It looks for real talent and wants to make sure those who work with their team are worth the investment. Upon interest of signing up, you will have to take a few assessments which can include grammar, spelling and your language usage. If you are interested in jobs that require a special skill, you will need to take additional assessments.

Depending on what you score, you will be assigned certain tasks. The good news is that since ClickWorker only has about 200,000 workers that use the site, there are plenty of jobs to go around.

a green thumbs upPros:
  • Several jobs available
  • Can utilize your skills
  • Initial assessments can be difficult to complete
  • Very strict sign up process
  • Limited spots available
